The Rett Devil's Recommended Reading

Should all go well, this is my recommended book page. All of these I have either read or heard their authors presenting on the content.

Each picture is a link, and it will send you to the Autism Asperger Publishing Company website, to a synopsis of the book and a convenient online order form. If you prefer to browse on your own, click on the banner:

And now, onto the books!

First, the basic "ack my kid has brain cooties what do I do?" books, with commentary.

This is the first book most people ever read about Asperger Syndrome, and with good reason. It presents facts while being respectful of people with AS and discusses both children and adults.

Probably the most comprehensive book on childhood bipolar out there. It talks about the symptoms that aren't exactly symptoms, medications (though it's a bit behind on those, but that happens), everything from diagnosis to school to hospitalization. The authors actually talked to parents of bipolar kids and BP kids themselves, so there's more than clinical stuff. Always a plus.

If you didn't get enough Asperger's before, here's a whole lot more. Thick, comprehensive, lots of goodies in here. Like IEPs and words from adults on the spectrum and all that fun stuff.

I can't find much on classical autism that I'm familiar with (this page will be updated) but Temple Grandin wrote this one, with lots of practical words of wisdom. It's kind of autobiography, kind of suggestions, if that makes sense:
